To-the-point beauty reviews & makeup shenanigans

june favourites

As cliche as it sounds, I honestly can’t believe the month of June has already passed us by.

To be honest, my favourites haven’t changed too drastically since last month, but these are all products I get a lot of use out of and reach for on a regular basis.

lips

I’m still very much enamored with the Marcelle 2 in 1 Retractable Plumping Lip Liner in Rose Velours and the Malena Glossy Lipstick in 04 combo, and I’ve been wearing it most days this past month. I especially love how well it goes with a rose gold eye (which I’ve been loving lately like no other). It’s a natural pink lip that is comfortable and wears off nicely throughout the day.

If I want a pop of colour, I reach for the The Face Shop Face It Artist Finger Gloss in PP401, which is a gloss-stain hybrid that’s super easy to apply, and the formula is very comfortable and lightweight. I really like how pigmented this is, and I particularly love this shade of red. It always makes me feel fresh and pulled together, even if all I’m wearing is this and a little mascara (and a touch of highlighter, I mean, how can I resist?)

eyes

The Lancôme My French Palette has completely dominated my eyeshadow choices. I can’t help myself, it seems that all I want to wear this summer is rose gold. 😛

While the shimmer is a bit more intense than I would prefer for everyday, I find it perfect for the summertime. The matte shades are lovely for adding a bit of warmth and definition in the crease if you’re not feeling the shimmery rose-brown, and they are just as beautiful on their own as a light wash of colour on the lid.

Maybe I’ll hit pan for the first time ever by the end of the season?

face

No surprise here, the love affair between me and the Joe Fresh Highlighter in Pure Glow is still going on strong. I will take all the glow I can get, and paired with bronzer, I feel like it completes my summer makeup.

The Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer in 02 Sunkissed is finally getting some proper use and I think it’s a good bronzer for beginners, since it’s pretty forgiving. It can get somewhat orangey if you go in with a heavy hand, but if you build it up gradually, I find it gives you a healthy sunkissed look.

wrapping up

Thanks so much for stopping by, and do let me know what you’ve thought of this month’s favourites.
